“Indian 101” Description:Americansfor Indian Opportunity’s “Indian 101”is part
of a cultural awareness training program, lauded for its non-victim andno-blame
approach to presenting Native American history and culture, analysisof
federal/tribal governmental relations and Indian policy, and background
oncontemporary Native peoples. Native American values and resilience
areemphasized throughout the presentation. We will be invited to move away from
aculture of oppression mentality toward a positive, realistic understanding
ofcontemporary Indigenous peoples and modern tribal governments of the U.S.
