Not sure how/ where the FX picks up the light from the focussing screen to be perfectly honest. But if its just measuring the incident light it shouldn't make a difference? Returning to the 'Maxwell' any comments wrt to the split (or prism) sensitivity issue itself? I had thought the Maxwells and Beattie screens primarily addressed the brightness issue - but at least on this account the fx/gx are fine.
