I carry my Canon 50D much of the time, but when I want to go compact I use my a little Panasonic DMC-TZ4 with Leica lens (the equivalent of 28-280mm on a 35mm). Incredible little camera. And it has Optical Image Stabilization built into it (Gyroscope).
