Hi Volker,
thanks for the link, wow there are a lot of great shots there. Are the ones not
square cropped, or have they been shot with something other than the 6008? I
too have a 6008, but use it less than the TLR because of the bulk and weight.
It is a great handling camera. Are you shooting film, or do you have a digital
back for yours?
I’m glad that so many people took my message of encouragement to post a few
links, so much great material people are creating, it’s inspiring to see. I
need to get some stuff scanned, although Emmanuel had a great point that
digital cameras today can serve as quick and more than good enough digitisation
devices for scanning negatives.
I’ve been eying the Fujifilm X series for some time, but keep passing on it,
thinking if I have a digital setup, why bother with film at all? Plus all my
film gear is paid for, works perfectly for what I need, I have a large
selection of lenses for the 6008, the Contax IIa and Nikons. and I have an
iPhone for snapshots to share with people. Although film isn’t as easy to come
by anymore, and my stock of APX100 is dwindling. Plus developing takes time and
space, but I suppose the same amount of time would go to digital post
processing if I was using digital, so it probably comes out about the same.
Maybe even Daniel and Sanders will chime in with whatever they’ve been working
on lately…? :-)

Hello Thor,
that is a good point. I love to talk about the technical aspects of cameras
but they are devices to take photos, basically. So get out an use them. Here
is the link to my homepage: http://www.volkermuth.net/en/menschen/index.php ;
<http://www.volkermuth.net/en/menschen/index.php> As I use my 6008
professional mainly for portrait work you find a lot of Rolleiflex shots in
the people section of my portfolio.
Best regards,
Volker

I find it somewhat ironic and somewhat sad that only one person ever posts
links to pictures regularly anymore, yet a single post of a poster showing
an old Rollei elicits a barrage of conjecture, speculation and research.
Not that I’ve been any better at posting pics, I have about 30 rolls waiting
to be developed, and even more to be scanned, but there are a lot of people
here. Is no one out shooting with their Rolleis anymore? Has this list
become a museum dedicated to the brand? To dealing with historical facts and
figures, weights, measures, productions numbers? Nothing wrong with that,
but where are the photographers using these cameras?
I’d love to see some of the art/work people here are creating. Slobodan?
Daniel? Sanders? Volker? Ferdi? Don? Marvin? Pablo? Emmanuel? Ken? Jerry?
Many more whom I’ve (unintentionally) left out?
I mean this in the best possible way.

Thanks Emanuel,
good you mention it. Yesterday I took a picture from an advertising poster.

Actually Rollei never fabricated any large format camera or lenses, however
there was a medium format Rollei monorail camera (X-Act) and Voigtländer
had a monorail camera on its catalogue at the beginning of the 1950's, and
manufactured large format lenses until the beginning of the 1970s.
