Dennis,

Planars cost more than Xenotars 'cause the Planars have a cemented
2 element pair as the first cell, rather than the single element of the
Xenotar. That pair has to be uncemented before any work can be
done on the front surface. Then it has to be recemented. No
comparison.

The chap just wants to have his front element recoated. A simple
job with a Xenotar. A nightmare with a Planar. Don't give him
duff gen.
