The one without the split prism is a bit brighter edge-to-edge. For me it is easier to focus, but as I age I rely a bit more on the flip up magnifier to ensure I am focused properly. I even replaced the regular magnifier in the flip up with a Rollei +1 diopter to help. Wish I could do that with my T.
