Why no holder? I have a v700 with the Doug Fisher "Better Scanning" adjustable
holder, not the flimsy Epson holders.
You can adjust the height for accurate focus. You can also purchase the optical
flat glass inserts in the event that your film isn't flat. I get good results
with that approach.
