This VERY off topic issue has ended to me from a practical point of
view, I knew I have read it somewhere and I knew I'd find some exact
sample, these are the specs for the Jaguar E type:
"ENGINE: ...Three S.U. carburetters, type HD.8 with manual choke control..."

"FUEL SUPPLY. By Lucas electric pump fitted into tank of 14 Imperial
gallon capacity. Petrol filter incorporated into fuel line and located
in engine compartment."
