I remember that during my medical software days I had a client in the California Desert (Brawley was the town) Imperial Valley Surgery
Center was the client.

They were an outpatient surgery center. The head doc always mentioned their high workloads on Saturday night. He called it "The
Saturday Night Knife and Gun Club".

For those who don't know Brawley, it's sort of a combination farm and
cowboy town.

About a million years ago I wound up working as a police dispatcher for the L.A. cops. It was an education. The worst nights were Friday nights. Saturday could be bad too but there was more violence on Friday night than any other. I also found to my amazement that stories about the full moon are true; people just went crazy. I got this job because I had taken a civil service exam intending to become a technician in the Department of Water and Power microwave network. Well, the cops were hiring and in civil service you take whatever is offered to get in. I bailed out before too long and wound up working for Hewlett-Packard, a company which does not exist any more although the name is still around.
