I have a Super Ikonta C 530/2 serial # Y55030 so from 1934, the albeda
viewfinder is crystal clear and the rangefinder patch is also, I suspect
the camera must have been refurbished sometime before it came into my hands
although the leatherette looks to be original and lhe original case is
still intact, just barely. The camera works wonderfully. It has the
Tessar 4.5/105 CZJ #1538011 and a Compur #1225524.

I have an Ikonta C, too. What’s the viewfinder coating like on yours? Mine
is significantly yellowed.

It is toxic indeed. Heavy metal. As a pharmacist I used to produce
Selenium Sulphide shampoo many years ago. A sort of home made Selsun. I
delivered it to patients by the litre and eventually they flushed all of it
down the sewer system. I as a producer was not allowed to rinse the vessels
I used to make the stuff in order to protect the environment. The solution
I found was disposing of the vessels by taking them home and rinse them in
the kitchen and that was perfectly legal. It's a strange world.
BTW, I own a Super Ikonta C (6x9 cm) with a f/3.5 105 mm Tessar.
