Thor,

I was an APX100 shooter as well.  I have not got any APX100 to do a
side by side comparison, but my impression is that the Adox CHS 100
II certainly has some of that APX100 feel about it (the Gevaert
heritage).  I would say CHS 100 II is an improved emulsion with
better sharpness and finer grain.  I have not as yet done any
portrait work with it which would be the real test, as that was
where APX100 was superb.

Note that Adox is in the process of moving production of CHS 100 II
to the Swiss coating facility and so it is unavailable at the
moment.  I hope they get it running soon as I am down to just 5
rolls of 120 and 1 of 135.

Wow Richard,

very cool! I can see what you mean about the sharpening, esp. the
dinosaur shot.

How do you like the Adox emulsion? I’ve been shooting APX100 for
years and years, but am down to my last 100 rolls and will have to
find something new at some point (hoping film will continue to be
produced…!)

Cheers,
Thor

I had a chance to go up to see the Galleta Meadows sculptures about
a month ago.  Definitely worth the trip.  I have uploaded a few to
Flickr.  Both were taken with the Rolleiflex 6006 and the 80/2.8 on
Adox CHS 100 II film.  The scans are commercial scans and to my eye
a bit oversharpened.
