Who was it said recently on the older ones it is all up to the condition
of the individual? Sort of like Mr. Lincoln's comment that after age 25,
a man is responsible for his own face...
It is more up to the individual than up to its type.... Is there
something there about racism too, maybe? "everything I need to know, I
learned from my camera?"

The world is dotted with examples of heterophobia, the fear/dislike of
ones not like yourself. All we can do is transcend, in our own lives.
Sort of the man who refuses to believe a meaningful photo could be taken
with a Zenit, a FED, or a Perfex 5.....

btw, there are as many "Lynch" origin myths as there are examples of the
blarney stone. Everyone has skeletons in their cultural closet -- the
best we can do is not perpetuate the hate.

Now lets get back to the beauty of the magnificent product that brought
us together, and save the political speechifying for audiences motivated
to accept them.
