Dear John, there are small screws to adjust the plate against which the screen is pressed. I saw it once at the assembly line in factory for the 3003. They can be accessed from top with tiny screwdrivers and it looked to me you need a good skill to do so. The 80mm f1.4 and 35mm f1.4 will fit on the adapter but you cannot easily remove the adapter because it is smaller than the lens barrel. Being only 1mm thick, you have nothing to grip! Infinity focus seemed OK - QBM lenses focus have about 1mm extra focus and the adapter is thin enough to bring the lens forward to enable infinity focus. The Canon is the only SLR camera that has a large enough throat and short enough focus length to accommodate most other manufacturer's lenses. Exposure is just a matter of trial and error. Possibly due to the angle of light rays on a film lens compared to the modified light path on a digital lens, the meter gets variable light intensity. I had a similar problem with my 3003; the factory said it was OK but when I sent it to the Rollei expert in UK, he adjusted it slightly. It may be something you can do yourself providing the lens focuses at the plane, it just requires a slight movement of the screen. You could try removing and replacing the screen or trying a different screen. It may not be properly seated... I do not have a manual to see how you do this though. I think the overexposure issue should be a problem to be solved, so It just needs more manual adjustments. I had the same problem with a M42 Zeiss Flektogon lens on an Olympus E1 (Four Thirds). Without the chip the exposure is ok, with chip the exposure was heavily overexposured. My interpretation is that the chip tells in a - wrong - way, the aperture is set to say f 8, but currently the lens is fully open for focussing. Then the AE thinks it has to increase the exposure time. Did you have problems to focus to infinity with the Rollei to Canon adapter? Also the other issue at the Sl2000 with screen adjustment, that microprisms cannot get fully clear at infinity of the lens, is known to me. My SL2000 has the same. Has been -in earlier times - a lot of times directly at Rollei and came back without change. Once I went with it directly to the production line where the SL3003 where mounted. The technician said, the adjustment was in specs of tolerances and hence needs no further adjustment. I could not convince him to adjust "more to zero tolerance". Hence a manufactured one does not seem to be on the market. I have thought about Aralditeing a chip at the bottom of the mount but have not got around to it yet. You have to stop down the lens manually anyway so this would not necessarily be a problem... Can you tell which adapter you haveß I heard that most adapters do not work with the 1,8 50 Planar as the back of the lens goes too far into the adapter. Without, you're on your own for the focusing. With, you get the little red box to confirm where you're in focus. The chip is available on its own if needed. I have one without and it works quite well, I have tried it with the 55/1.4, 50/1.8, 85/2.8 and some non-Rollei 28-70 macro lens (don't remember the brand). They all worked fine on my 5d and 1d. No exposure problem. When I tried it on the 450d of a friend of mine, it seems it didn't like the all-metal adapter and started to blink ... I have been told as well that some lenses may hit the mirror but it seems I have none of them. So your mileage may vary. I just bought an adapter to use on Olympus FourThirds, but I did not yet receive it to test it. Adaption should also work to Canon, but some adapters allow no infinity focusing while I also read that some lenses got so deep back at infinity that the mirror of the Canon would touch the back of the lens. Any reports of own experience and also recommendations for adapters and best camera bodies combinations to be used are appreciated. Yes I know, finally this is then no more a Rolleiflex. But maybe using a Carl Zeiss Rollei 1.4/85 at a Canon will finally let us continue to use some good Rollei staff! ;-) Regards Dirk --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org<//www.freelists.org> <//www.freelists.org> <//www.freelists.org> - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org<//www.freelists.org> <//www.freelists.org> <//www.freelists.org> - Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list
