There may have been some additional factor in the Rollei cases since other cases of the time do not seem to have this problem and pre-war Rollei cases do not either. For a long time I thought the "Depose" stamped into the backs of some of the cases was the name of a manufacturer but apparently it means only that the design is patented or copyright.
