The Rolleimot can be used up to 200 metres from the camera, the main
purpose was to allow photographs taking at dangerous and/or difficult
access sites or where the photographer presence was not suitable for
some reason (f.e. certain kind of animals shots); having 12 frames,
only the 150 Mag Rolleimot makes sense for continous shooting.

On the basis of its lens and construction quality, almost any Rollei
TLR camera could be a pro camera to do specalized tasks, some
Rolleicord models can take oscillographs images with the Philips
Attachment, most Rollei TLR can take images from the Microscope with
the Micro-Attachment, most TLR models with interchangeable viewfinders
could become a specialized close-up camera with the Polaroid back and
the dedicated viewfinder, the Rolleimagic was an interesting camera to
use with the Rolleimot due to the automatic exposure system (some
Rolleimot brochures have the Rolleimagic as sample). Tele Rollei and
Wide Rollei and Mutars and similars were a limited answer to pro
cameras with interchangeable lenses, a Rollei TLR can even be a
submarine camera and a slide projector! .
These uses talk about the camera flexibility, the production volume
and price made it a popular camera, quality and applications made it a
pro camera too.
