The first tlr I've seem that is in the same league as the Rollei's is the Japanese 4x4 tlr made by Primo. I have one of the US badged ones, a Sawyer's Mark IV and I think it's every bit as good as my baby rolllei's. The 2.8 lens is very good, the screen is a fresnel screen, much brighter then the stock babies and the rolleicord type controls are very easy to use. It uses a well built red window to set the first shot, but from then on it uses a very smooth rollei style crank advance / shutter cock. The finish on my focus knob might be just a touch below the babies, but not by much and still light years ahead of the nice , but not in the same class, Yashica 4x4's. All in all, in this one little camera I think the Japenese matched Rollei.
