Sanders, ...could always try taking the flash bits from a disposable camera and adapting that to go in a Rolleiflash; that must be the cheapest 'first prototype'. I collected dozens of these camera carcasses with the aim of making a ring-flash head which I could connect to a SCA compatible flash body so I could have a TTL ring-flash - I'm surprised that a SCA TTL ring-flash was not available until Metz produced one recently but it is expensive and only for nominated digital cameras - I have never got around to building it but the project is on the to-do list... As always, when playing with electronic flash units, they can 'bite'!
