The five bulbs did not fire. The green test lamp flashed with
intense bright each time I pressed the test button, but the bulbs did not work.
I tried with the 2,8C and 2,8F, the electronic flash worked on both cameras
releasing the shutter. I also tried the Rolleiflash 1 button to fire it
directly to use the open shutter technique but the bulbs did not work. I rad
they are old bulbs from the earlier '50s, plenty of aluminum foil and they look
fine, but did not work; now they become a collector item...
Anyway I am waiting for cheap NOS blue Westinghouse M3B bulbs I bought in
eBay. The main difference between the Tolleiflash 1 and Rolleiflash 2 is that
the 2 accepts newer bulbs with different basis beside the older ones.

My Rolleiflash seems to automatically adjust to two different base sizes.
Also, I ended up with two different size mounts.
As far as flash bulbs are concerned my notion is that foil-filled bulbs are
really hard to ignite. I used the bulbs the wire-like filling. They even
worked just fine underwater. I carried them in a rubber strip that had holes
for 12 bulbs. Even when I had a bulb left over from a day of diving it worked
fine the next day.
