The analogy is pretty good - even if tounge in cheek exagerated. You're talking
to a big group of Rollei 35 fans here, telling them their prized camera is a
dog.

It may not be one of the best 135s ever, but it takes pictures easily as sharp
and contrasty as anything from a Canon or Nikon SLR with one all purpose lens
and takes a whole lot less space, gives a whole lot of control, and was clearly
made well enough to still be used and talked about today. So it doesn't compare
with the best of the best. There's a lot of cameras out there, some much easier
to use. I'd recommend four other cameras before I'd recommend a Rollei 35, but
I would choose my 35 over the four others for myself, any time. It's just that
much more interesting and challenging and fun, and compared to anything Leica
it's very affordable.

To each his own, of course, but the R35 can't be easily dismissed as mountain
climber camera.
