Elias: 6 feet and 20 feet are hyperfocal distances to obtain the largest DOF according the the f/stop you are using and then they are marked in red. The camera is provided with two Depth Of Field scales, one in feet and other in meters;if you focus at 20 feet and you are using f/8, you'll obtain a sharp image from 10 feet to infinity, if you focus at 6 feet using f/8 you'll obtain a sharp mage from 5 feet to 8 feet (more or less); BTW you can use other focusing distances also using the DOF scale to know the sharp area.
