I have bought a fresh-from-fresh-stock bottle of Rodinal last year. By mail order from a French distributor.A limited number of former Agfa chemicals was re-launched by a company named A&O after the bankruptcy of AgfaPhoto (a short-lived spin-off company of Agfa Gevaert).
To date (Oct 2008) there seem to be changes in the intricated issued about who makes what and who distributes what, A&O either changed its name or re-organised or vanished. Moreover, there seem to be a harsh controversy about the use of trade names of the former Agfa Photo company including Rodinal(TM).
Comments on this subject, posted by on galerie-photo.info by a French distributor of film & darkroom products say that the original Agfa brand names like Rodinal could no longer be used outside Germany. The question is : who owns what and who licences which brand to which. However, the probability to continue getting Rodinal or Rodinal-like developer for the years to come is very high. Whatever the actual brand might be.
So Rodinal aficionados, be confident, as they say in the New World :"When there is a demand, there will be a supply and brave entrepreneurs to serve this market, even if it is a niche market" (ahem : in the New World, I also had heard guys with definite & un-questionable arguments about the Market being able to self-regulate without any interference from the State ... )
BTW for those who swear only by ORWO paper and Pentacon cameras, there exists a rodinal-like developer named CALBE R09 manufactured in Germany (another former Eastern-block story, more details here
