Just for the fun of it, being a UK'un, I say Nick-on. Is it Nick-onos or Nye-konos (which sounds better)? Although it is not correct, I think Role-e-flex (also Rol-ee-flex) rolls off the tongue better than Rol-eye-flex. But in the short form Rol-ee, Role-e or Rol-eye makes very little difference. ;-) John -----Original Message----- From: rollei_list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rollei_list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of jon.stanton@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: 29 May 2008 18:00 To: rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [rollei_list] Re: Pronunciation Last year when I was in Canada I chanced to meet a British photograper that pronounced Nikon as "Knee-con" In the states of course we say "Nye-con" --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list
