Looks like he's in Germany. But the UK relaxed carry-on size limits yesterday - no liquids or gels, still, but back to the normal size hand bagage allowances. Jim: Are you based out of the UK? The major restriction out of UK airports is the TINY carry-on size, vehemently enforced. I had to leave my SL66 at home last month when I visited the UK, not because I couldn't bring it with me from Canada, rather because I would have definitely had to check it on the way back. Yesterday, in Canada the restriction on carry on liquids and gels was relaxed. As far as I know, the UK restrictions are still in full force. I would expect you will have to run your camera through the X-ray machine, submit to an explosives test, and that's it. They should *NEVER* have cause to open your camera and see inside. If you have film loaded and this is requested, its time to talk to a supervisor because you are just being hassled. > >-----Original Message----- >From: rollei_list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >[mailto:rollei_list-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James & Christiane >Thompson >Sent: 26 September 2006 12:46 >To: rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [rollei_list] Problems with Airport Security?? > > >I know that similar topics have been dealt with before, but since the "liquid >explosive" thing in England (with the corresponding tightening of security), I >was wondering if anyone has been hassled about their camera, film, etc. I >have had security ask on several different occasions to see the inside of my >Rolleiflex, and even once that I "turn it on."
