Greetings David, I recommend dilution B HC110 and the development time of seven and a half minutes. Any deviation from the temperature of 20% C in myopinion is sacrilege. Marvin.
I tend to agree with this. B&W is more tolerant of temperature variation because the difference in contrast it causes can usually be corrected in printing. However, for any sort of consistency in work the temperature should be controlled better or development time adjusted. I am not sure time adjustment quite makes up for temperature. For one thing the penetration of the developer into the emulsion which is one factor in determining the time it takes the image to appear, varies with temperature in a way that is dependant on the particular film. Where a manufacturer's development time recommendations are determined experimentally from good sensitometric data they will take this effect into account, but, there does not seem to be a universally applicable formula for calculating it.
