Does anyone know of a photography-specific app for logging photographic info when working with film/analogue? Way back in the day when I was using a NeXT Cube (google it, it was a pretty cool computer), I created my own database with a database app called “Dataphile” by Stone Design. While Stone is still in business, the app no longer exists. It was rather simple, basically I assigned each roll a unique number, logged the camera it was used in, the lens used for each frame as well as exposure details. There were also fields for development times and printing info, as well as notes about the shot (e.g. ligting, flash, tripod/hand held, etc). I was pretty good at documenting what I did, and it helped me learn and improve. Today I see that all apps are aimed at digital photographers, naturally enough. The camera itself logs all data on each frame in the file. So these won’t really help (unless I’m missing something obvious). I have Filemaker, and could possibly create a new database similar to the old one and continue that way, but wanted to know how other people have dealt with record keeping and logging data about their shots. Looking forward to hearing what other people do.
