We are grateful to friends all over the world, who support us in
those difficult circumstances.
The place where the horrors occured last Friday Nov. 13, 2015, are
located very close to the well known Bastille Square (la place de la
Bastille), one of the symbols of the French Republic. Boulevard
Beaumarchais and Boulevard des Filles-du-Calvaire link Bastille
Square to Republic Square (la place de la République), another highly
symbolic part of Paris.
Boulevard Beaumarchais, in the last century, used to be the "National
Rolleiflex Boulevard", at least this was my feeling when I was a
student in Paris in the 1970's and 1980's.
In those pre-Internet times, street shops on the legendary Parisian
"Boulevard-de-la-Photo" were stuffed with our beloved medium format
cameras & accessories. Needless to mention the number of hours I spent
there looking for a dream camera ...
