I think Pyro has HC110 beat on shelf life. I've had bad luck with any liquid
developers other than Rodinal and PMK Pyro. The most disasterous one has
been Paterson FX50, their ascorbic acid developer. TRI-X negs shot at 400
look like they were shot at 6400.

That is, if you keep it away from air. I have heard that some like to use
very small bottles to transfer the stock solution into and then just open
one at a time. I learned to develop my own film with HC110 and it does give
nice results. Safer than pyro, too. But I just love those beautiful negs
pyro gives me!
