Just press the two oval buttons on the back together and it will show it is in spot metering mode on the LCD.
Its a bit finicky and unfortunately the camera cancels spot meter mode if you open and close the lens cover.

Gentlemen, A couple months ago there was short discussion on this camera, which was said to be sort of a cult camera. This camera has the f2.8 lens. This discussion prompted me to pull mine out of storage and check it out. I could not locate my instruction book.During the previous discussion on this list it was mentioned how the exposure or auto focus could be altered by the 2 buttons ion the back of the camera. I think that the automatic exposure could be changed from average to spot.If someone could refresh me on this it would be most appreciated. Without success I have been attempting to get information on the internet. Thanks Roger --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx- Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org- Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org- Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list
