I own both an SL66 and a 2.8C Xenotar (and plan to keep both). I've also
had a 2.8F Planar and a 2.8E Xenotar in years past.
My experience has been that the 2.8 Xenotars are sharper than the
Planars on both the SLR and TLR cameras. The Xenotars have an
astounding ability to resolve minute detail ("feathery" foliage, for
instance) that the Zeiss lenses don't. On the other hand, the Planars
appear to have a more uniform tonal range.
