I remember that in the 70s both E-3 and E-4 coexisted. Amateur films were E-4 but pro films continued to be e-3 for some time. I used to process both myself, and really hated the light fogging you had to do with E-3.

I always wondered why the progression was E-2, E-3, E-4, E 6 . What happened to E-5??
