The guinea was a gold coin minted only in the middle 1600's, and that briefly. I doubt that many have survived. But the guinea survived as the currency of account for professional salaries and finer consumer goods such as guns and shoes and suits. It even has made it into today's decimal currency, where a guinea is now worth GBP 1.05.
