Some while ago, the American Standards Association reorganized to become the American National Standards Association , but I think it still proper to reference measurements established when there was an ASA. However, ASA (ISO, ANSI) numbers are designated by manufacturers applying standard protocols. In this instance, what is being looked for is an appropriate exposure index (EI) for a film/developer combination, which may or not deviate from the ASA.

Sounds like a lot of fun to try though. Good luck.

Shooting infrared, initially, requires a lot of bracketing in
order to find a reasonable ASA for your exposure/processing
methods. Also, you can shoot at a small f/stop and avoid the
infrared focus shift problem. If your lens has an infrared focus
mark, then use it.

There's a lot of trial and error in getting started using infrared.

With all humble regards, SOMEONE should tell this guy to load his
camera in total darkness, as in a changing bag or the like.
