Without getting to deeply into computers, of which my knowledge only
scratches the surface, which service pack is your version of Windows? (>My
Computer>Properties>General tab). SP3 is the latest version and can be
downloaded from Microsoft or for example...
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/windows-xp-service-pack-3.html.
It is possible that a driver has become corrupted or outdated. An SP update
should sort that out.
