It's a strange impression to have I think. What ever money you save is not taxed (while it's being saved that is, until you die). IF your money collects interest, say it's in a savings account, the interest is taxed. But, not the principal (original money in the account). There is no tax on money in your mattress, and it also collects no interest...just dust mites and bed bugs.
