I found my old Epson Perfection 4490 software DVD, it contains
the scanner drivers and the Digital ICE technology for dust and scratch
removal and colors restoration, however they are not separated files, it
seems they are part of the scanner driver software. I think you need the
scanner on and the software for the specific model to install the software.
Epson Perfection software has two ways to remove dust and scratches, the
Dust removal option and the Digital ICE technology, more complete than the
first option. I have used these features rarely; anyway I prefer VuesScan.
Digital ICE does not work with B&W negs. Epson and VueScan software have
options to restore colors and an Infrared cleaning software. BTW, they are
filters and despite they work pretty well most of the times, they affect
the image quality someway, I used this software very few times, to recover
some old neg or slide with some historical or sentimental worth to me.
I really think the VueScan pro version software is the best solution, but
if you think files in the disc could be useful to you, please let me know
