I actually flew on one when I was a small child. It went from Detroit to New York, or maybe it was the other way around. It had a steward rather than a stewardess and would bounce if it flew over a hot cup of coffee.

I flew one in the 90's... up till about 10 years ago Cape Air (serving Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA) had a mess of them. Not a comfortable aircraft by modern standards but truly one of the most beautiful pieces of industrial design ever I think...
