Yes, but as the undefeated Miyamoto Musashi wrote, in the hands of an
expert, a bokken is MORE dangerous than a real *katana* (Japanese
metal sword)! Indeed in some modern Japanese movies Musashi is often
portrayed as weilding a bokken - or sometimes two - against a horde
of opponents all wielding katanas, and bringing them all down with it.
