I too listened to Attila for the first time. It was interesting, but IMHO Verdi still had some seasoning to go before becoming VERDI.

Bunk, sir. It was a perfectly valid business decision by Chevron. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has to learn how to survive on its own merits, especially by creating endowments, something it has been lamentably hesitant to do.

In any event, the opera broadcasts have survived very nicely. Caught Verdi's ATTILA the other day, one I had never before heard.
