The Leica Digilux I and Digilux II are both made by Panasonic. Panasonic also badges them under their own name. This isn't new...Leica also sold a Minilux, made by Fuji. However, their current P&S (the CM) is apparently assembled in Germany. My wife just got a pocket digital camera made by Panasonic, a Lumix model, but the zoom lens is marked: LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 1:2.8-5.0/5.7-17.4 ASPH. It's a nice little camera but I wonder where the Leica lens name came from. The notation ASPH would indicate it has some more or less modern aspherical elements but there is no indication as to who actually made the lens. (No red dot). DAW Don Williams La Jolla, CA
