[rollei_list] OT: 1st real EBAY trouble in 10+ years...

Austin,
thanks for sharing your experience. I do have proof of shipping which my PO already verified, but not delivery. PayPal also knows the item left the US. It seems to me if I have proof of shipping the item they should not be able to chargeback the funds I was paid, but the buyer should get his $$ back via the shipping insurance. But what do I know...

If the buyer actually received the item, he is very good at faking grief / upset over loss. But I don't wan't to assume that ("in dubio pro reo" etc.). He is communicating profusely and, it seems, just impatient.

This will change how, or if, I ship to China again.

All this said my experience with EBAY/PayPal has been 98% positive over the last 10 years. But fees are becoming prohibitive and it's time they got some sophisticated competition.

You will have your shipping refunded in the USPS claim, if they honor it. Can you show proof of delivery? You're required to provide some form of proof of delivery for eBay/PayPal to honor seller protection, but if the item was simply not delivered, then you have to file claim with the shipper. Priority to HK can take a while. You used to be able to put a "tracer" on a
package, you may want to check with USPS about that.
...
Best Regards,
Austin
