I own a 6008i. I had cells replaced by Paepke-Fototechnik in Düsseldorf,
Germany. The costs were around €80. When charged the camera sees the battery as
"FULL" and it supplies enough current for the camera to work properly. Earlier
I had cells replaced by a local battery shop. That was a small waste of money.
The battery house bulged and would not fit into the camera anymore. When sent
to Mr Paepke he stated that they also had a too low capacity.
I use the Charger N or an old Maha charger. Mr Paepke communicated that the
Chargers N and C were OK but not the Charger G (for SLX). The discharge button
of the C should not be used anymore. The N switches off after 1 hour. According
to Mr Paepke charging the battery for 1 hour will charge it for around 90%. His
advice is to leave it that way but you can start another cycle if you want. I
found out that the N will not switch off when "FULL" but goes on for a full
hour. That is most likely too long.
The 6008i let me down at one occasion: a very humid atmosphere. I visited
Brugues (Brugge), near the Belgian coast, early in Spring and the relative
humidity was nearly 100%. After pushing the release the whole film went
through, the camera made strange noises and was unusable. Fortunately I had
brought my TLR. After taking the 6008i back indoors everything went back to
normal after 10 minutes or so. I never had that problem again. Although the
cause of the malfunction could not be found, I assume it was humidity. Has
anyone else experienced this problem?

I use the Rolleiflex 6008 professional for some year. When I bought the
camera used it needed a CLA and new batteries. Since that I never missed a
shot because of low batteries. If you got a second battery for safety in your
bag your are fine. The distrust on battery depend cameras is obsolete in
practical photography. When the Nikon F3 was released some photographers were
wary because the shutter was electronically controlled. I think time has
shown that the F3 is a very reliable camera. I love high quality mechanical
equipment like a M6 but I have to admit that electronic enables a more
precise controlling of e.g. shutter speed and a provides abilities which
support me in my work as a photographer. The 6000 system is a very well
thought out camera concept and I never would change it for a Hasselblad.
