Hello Jan,
I can concur that the batteries on the 6000 series are not an issue. Â As an
experiment I left one battery in a partially used state for almost a year, put
the battery in the camera and proceeded to shoot a few more rolls of film
without the "low battery" warning coming on. Â Rollei to their credit used
MATCHED sets of Sanyo CadNica batteries (regarded as the best of the NiCads). Â
The batteries last so well that for spare batteries I have bought 3 "non
working" or "does not hold charge" batteries and 2 of those after some care
work to the original specification (one was a very early battery with the
original smaller capacity NiCads). Â The third one had been very overcharged so
I will need to re-cell it.
When I first bought into the 6000 series just over a year ago, I was a bit
hesitant as a lens I had turned out to be faulty meaning an even bigger
investment then expected. Â In the end I decided to stay with it and I have to
admit it has been one of the most enjoyable cameras I have used. Â I would 100%
choose the Rollei again over a Hasselblad.

Hi Volker,Â
You got me almost convinced. Â There seem to be some pretty good deals for
600x cameras out there. Â Wiese Fototechnik does not seem to advertise the
new battery on their website. Kind of a minimalist site anyway. Â Would be
good to know the price.Â
I am not opposed to electronic cameras. Â I have been using a Canon 60D
(APS-C) for 6 years now and it has never let me down.Â
And I would still have my Contax 645 had Kyocera continued to support the
system. Â That camera and its Zeiss lenses were the absolute pinnacle of
sharpness and perfect chrome exposure in all my analog photography, but I do
prefer 6x6 over 6x4.5.
A late Hasselblad 500xx with a PME 45 meter prism does look like an
interesting, more compact option than the 600x systemâ¦
