Hello Jan,
I use the Rolleiflex 6008 professional for some year. When I bought the camera
used it needed a CLA and new batteries. Since that I never missed a shot
because of low batteries. If you got a second battery for safety in your bag
your are fine. The distrust on battery depend cameras is obsolete in practical
photography. When the Nikon F3 was released some photographers were wary
because the shutter was electronically controlled. I think time has shown that
the F3 is a very reliable camera. I love high quality mechanical equipment like
a M6 but I have to admit that electronic enables a more precise controlling of
e.g. shutter speed and a provides abilities which support me in my work as a
photographer. The 6000 system is a very well thought out camera concept and I
never would change it for a Hasselblad.
Best regards,
Volker

This is very interesting news. Still looking into buying a 6 x 6 camera with
internal meter for chromes, either Rolleiflex GX, SL66SE or 6000 Series.
Thought so far, that the battery/recharging system was THE argument agains
the 6000 series.

Hallo Rolleiflex 6000 users,
Marek Wiese of Wiese Fototechnik in Hamburg http://www.wiese-fototechnik.de ;
has developed a new charger (110-240V AC) and batteries using Lithium
polymer cells for the LensControl and Rolleiflex camera of the 6000 series.
They have a higher capacity then the old NiCad or NiMH ones and no memory
effect any more. I think that this increases the usefulness of the 6000
camera system. The new higher capacity batteries can only be used with the
new Wiese charger and not with the standard Rollei like the current Type C.
Old batteries can receive new cells. The specification of the new Li-Pol
batteries are:
• Li-Pol -3 - (11,1V) the current Nickel–metal hydride batteries have 10V
• 850mA
• AC 110-240V
• 150 x 80 x 40mm
• Weight 200g
• 2.5 h charging time
• new cells shall last eight times longer than the standard ones
• no memory effect any more
For more information please contact Marek Wiese directly on:

Pictures of the new charger and batteries can be found on:

Volker
