mark, you have it backwards. the OPTON and CARL ZEISS (sans JENA) lenses are the ones which only occur post-WWII. in other words, it was in the period after the end of the war that some lenses marked
"zeiss" *stopped* bearing the "jena" designation.

I just re-read Marc's post and that is what he said, i.e., it was post-war lenses that might not be marked Jena or, in the US were marked CZ Jena. Opton did not exist until after the war as his very brief history makes clear.
