Hi Everyone,
Due to impending USA visit starting this Wednesday I contacted Bill Maxwell and
asked if he was still making his bright HI-LUX Brilliant Matte Screen with Grid
for the Rollei SL66, which is the same type screen I also have in my 3,5E TLR.
We had a long and wide-ranging chat on the phone, even talked about Jason
Schneider (Popular Photograpy), Harry Fleenor (Rollei Repair) and Bob Shell (ex
rollei-list member). Bill seems to know about everyone connected to Rollei and
beyond.
He also told me he is going to shut down the formal screen making businss in
about a year to focus on other things. So, if anyone still wants to to take the
plunge and buy one of those bright screens, better contact him. The screens are
quite expensive, about 3 times what they were when I bought my first one from
him and BiIl is quite eloquent explaining why that is.
I figured it will last me a long time in my SL66 and make focussing, especially
with the 500 mm TT much more of a pleasure.
