Richard K. wrote a good point, the camera price. I
have an original 1954 list price from Burleigh Brooks
Inc.,10 West 46th Street New York 36, N.Y, that I
bought from Craig cameras because it contains the 2.8C
prices, if your camera costed 149.50$, this is the
exact price for the 1954 Rolleicord IV with Xenar lens
and ever ready case, and then it's almost sure your
camera was a Rolleicord III with Xenar lens and ever
ready case, a Rolleicord III with Triotar lens was
cheaper clearly. In other words, if your 1952
Rolleicord III camera had identical price regarding
the newer Rolleicord IV with Xenar lenses, your
Rolleicord III had Xenar lenses too.-

All the best
Carlos

Remember that at the time price fixing of products was legal and common. Discounts were often given by dealers but could not be advertised.
Prochnow gives prices in DM for the time the cameras were released. While converting these prices to U.S. ones can not be done directly the _ratio_ is interesting.

Model III Triotar DM 248
Model III Xenar DM 268
MOdel IV Xenar DM 338

For comparison, the prices he gives for the Rolleiflex 3.5A (Automat MX) in the same period are:

Jena Tessar or Opton Tessar DM 510
Xenar DM 490
