Peter and Bob,
My contacts in Japan know nowt about any takeover. My
German contacts are on holiday.
If it is any J company, it might be Canon, because they owe their
start to the E. Leitz company.
Since Nikon has been somewhat allied with Zeiss, and there was
recent bad feelings 'tween Leica and Minolta, Canon seems the most
logical. (but logic seldom controls big business decisions.
