Krikor should know better than recommend this. Unless you are shooting
color negative and really don't care about anything but being in the
ballpark, this won't work because of the difference in discharge
characteristics betwen mercury and alkaline cells. The meter can
easily be off a stop and a half or more over the life of the cell...
hopefully he told you...
