Thank you very much Don for the compliment, sometimes they look pretty
good, sometimes they don't look so good but I like them for some reason
talking about the pictures I upload to the Flickr gallery; BTW The
possibility of obtaining satisfactory results is increased using good tools!

Anyhow, I never bothered with any monitor calibration because just about
everything looks just fine to me on all the screens I have. I do have some
restorations of things I copied from Facebook friends posting that have a
strong color cast that I can’t fix in some instances. For them I just
accept them as they are.
Regarding your pictures, I have yet to see one that doesn’t appear superb,
so keep posting them.

I think the problem about monitors color calibration
exists yet, but I also think it is not easy to solve because you can
calibrate your monitor but if other viewer has a different monitor
calibration the problem is always present; anyway, there are image
adjustments allowing to see it keeping an acceptable color balance for most
monitors despite you could find slight variations among them; the other day
I saw the image about the creek with a right color balance in my monitor,
however i looked with a reddish cast in my cellphone screen, I diminished a
bit of the red color and image colors still looked acceptable in my monitor
and right in the cellphone screen. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does
not work.
It is more significant for your workflow to get a good sync between the
image you see in your monitor and the image you obtain from the printer. I
have an excellent printer, the Epson SureColor P800, however I could n´t
obtain a similar image for the monitor and the printer, the printer kept
the image color balance, however it was always darker than the image in the
monitor. I know there are technical means to sync both images, but I chose
to create a brighter image for the printer keeping the color balance and it
works to me; this is not the best way if you need several prints per day,
but it is not my situation; anyway I'll look for the right way to sync both
devices about brightness soon.
