3.25x2.25 is 1/8th plate but sometimes 3.5x2.5 (tintype) is also designated as
quarter plate.
whole plate - 6.5x 8.5
half plate 4.25x6.5
quarter plate 3.25x4.25
eight plate 2.25x3.25
Although in inches, apparently it is based on the Paris inch which was used as
a unit of measurement for focal lengths. It relates to 1.0657 imperial inches.
In the early days of photography, glass plates did vary and were cut to suit
individual maker's cameras so sizes can be a bit erratic before sizes were more
accurately standardised.

Subject: [rollei_list] Re: Ilford ULF program for 2017 is open
Robert, but that size is not the exact size for the Rollei Plate Adapter, you
need 6,5cm x 9cm, an European format, it would be about 3.50x2.50 inches, not
3.25x2.25, Perhaps you could use this smaller format (slightly) , it's about
6cm x 8cm but one of the film holder sides won't take the film sheet and you
could have some other minor issue with the frame too. It is not the right size..

Here is the Freestyle page that I ordered from:

They have emailed me that they have shipped it.

Freestyle do carry quite a diverse stock, but the 6.5 x 9 cm film is
special order and will not ship until October. I had to click a box
to say I understood the special order status.

Richard,
I've bought from Freestyle many times. I didn't know they had
this. Thanks. Robert

Robert,
I bought it through Freestyle. Total price (inc. shipping & tax)
for a single box was a little less and I have been very happy
dealing with Freestyle in the past.

For many of us here, this may be a non-event. This is probably
better angled at the Grey Baby/4x4 shooters amongst us…
The annual Ultra Large Format program from Ilford has just
opened for the year. Each year, Ilford makes special runs of
B&W film in oddball formats. Many of these sizes, I’d never
even heard of. They go down to the tiny 2x3 sheets that the
Speed Graphics used (and some plate adapters for the Rollei,
too). And they go up to 20x24 for the really daring.
What I find most exciting is that they will make 50 foot rolls
of HP5 available in 47mm (127 format)! There will also be rolls
of FP4 available in 9cm width, if you’re willing to split it
even down the middle. There’s even un-cut 100-foot-long rolls
of 120-backing paper. Here’s the URL of one of the US
distributors:
http://ultrafineonline.com/il20ullafouf.html
Let’s see a surge of Super Slides again!
